New Lenovo MIIX 2 models:
Lenovo has an 8-inch MIIX 2 model available today but in recognizing that one design doesn’t fit all, they are announcing 10-inch and 11-inch MIIX 2 models today. The MIIX 2 has the ability to connect to a unique detachable keyboard from Lenovo to be used in “Laptop Mode”. However, you can use it only as a tablet whenever you need to or use it in “Stand Mode” to watch movies or view photos.
The 10-inch MIIX 2 focuses on mobility: it weighs only 1.3 lbs. and is only 0.36-inches thick. It comes with a new 64-bit enabled quad-core Intel Atom processor 1, a full HD 1920x1200 10-point touchscreen display, Wi-Fi (and optional 3G), JBL surround speakers for great sounding audio, up to 128GB of eMMC storage and a microSD slot for adding up to 32GB of storage . The 10-inch MIIX 2 also comes with a 720p high resolution 2 megapixel front and 5 megapixel rear cameras. And it has all day battery life.
The 11-inch MIIX 2 focuses on performance offer up to a 4th generation Intel Core i5 processor, greater storage with up to 256GB of fast SSD storage and a full HD 1920x1200 IPS wide-view display. The 11-inch MIIX 2 comes with many of the same leading features of 10-inch model and Windows 8.1.
Both models come in the Silver Grey color and have a mini HDMI port to display content on larger screens, an SD card reader, micro USB port and microSD cards along with USB 2.0 support on the keyboard. The 10-inch MIIX 2 will start at $499 (U.S.) and the 11-inch MIIX 2 will start at $699 (U.S.). The 10-in model will be available beginning in March. The 11-in model will be available starting in April. They will be sold via major retailers and www.lenovo.com.
New Lenovo X1 Carbon:
Lenovo is announcing the new X1 Carbon 14-inch Ultrabook today. The X1 Carbon is designed with Carbon Fiber – the same material used on aircraft and cars. It weighs less than magnesium and aluminum but is stronger than both. The X1 Carbon only weighs 2.8 lbs. – its super strong AND super light. The new X1 Carbon comes with an improved display (with touch) giving customers brighter and crisper images at higher resolutions and better viewing angles. It also comes with Lenovo’s Rapid Charge technology that allows you to get an 80% charge of the battery in under an hour. And the new X1 Carbon has an over 70% improvement on battery life over the previous model with up to 9 hours. Finally, the new X1 Carbon also introduces an improved docking experience with Lenovo’s OneLink connector that brings power, gigabit Ethernet, and dual display support all through a single cable. Models of the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon will start at $1,299 (U.S.) and availability will begin late January.
Lenovo ThinkPad 8:
The ThinkPad 8 is a new 8-inch business tablet constructed of machine-cut aluminum. The ThinkPad 8 has 3 modes: “Tablet Mode” for on the go, “Desktop Mode” while connected to an optional keyboard base, dock or monitor, or in “Tent Mode” with its optional Quickshot Cover over the tablet. The ThinkPad 8 has an 8.3-inch 1920x1200 display and comes with the latest Intel Atom quad core processor, up to 128GB of storage, a microUSB 3.0 port, LTE connectivity, and Windows 8.1 Pro. The ThinkPad 8 convertible tablet will be available as configure-to-order models starting at $399 (U.S.) and at retailers starting at $429 (U.S.) in late January.
Lenovo Y and Z Series laptops:
The new 14-inch Y40 and 15.6-inch Y50 laptops come encased in a black shell and offer several options. The Y50 has an optional backlit keyboard for example and offers up to an Ultra HD 3840x2160 display or full HD 1920x1080 display with optional touch. The Y40 features a full HD display. The Y Series laptops come powered by up to a 4th generation Intel Core i7 processor, an HDD or SSD, optional AMD Radeon on the Y40 and NVIDIA GeForce on the Y50, and Windows 8.1. The Y40 and Y50 both come with JBL speakers and Dolby Home Theater v4. Models of the Lenovo Y40 and Y50 laptops will start at $999 (U.S.) beginning in May at major retailers and www.lenovo.com.
The new 14-inch Z40 and 15.6-inch Z50 laptops offer a lightweight design for mobile productivity and come in black, silver or white. These laptops come with an optional full HD 1920x1080 display and powered with up to a 4th generation Intel Core i7 processor. They also have optional NVIDIA GeForce graphics, Windows 8.1 and Dolby Home Theatre v4. And you can get up to 1TB of storage for both in either as an HDD or hybrid SSD. Models of the Lenovo Z40 and Z50 laptops will start at $599 (U.S.) beginning in March at major retailers and www.lenovo.com.
Lenovo Horizon 2:
At last year’s CES, Lenovo unveiled the 27-inch Horizon Table PC designed for full-on multitouch family entertainment in a form factor easy to transport around the home. The Horizon table PC could be used as an All-in-One sitting a desk (“Stand Mode”) or in the living room surrounded by friends and family playing games (“Table Mode”). Today, Lenovo is announcing the Horizon 2 Table PC. The Horizon 2 is dramatically thinner and lighter – measuring as thin as a deck of playing cards at just 19.5mm. It also comes with improved performance with up to a 4th generation Intel Core i7 processor, Dolby Home Theater for amazing audio, and large traditional or hybrid storage. And it comes with NFC (Near Field Communications) – making is real easy to share content from your phone to the Horizon 2. The Horizon 2 comes with Windows 8.1 and a 10-point touchscreen. The Horizon 2 be available beginning in June starting at $1,499 (U.S.) via major retailers and www.lenovo.com.
Lenovo A740:
The A740 is a new All-in-One from Lenovo that has only a 4mm thin display – making it one of the thinnest 27-inch All-in-Ones around. I am a huge fan of All-in-Ones and the A740 has really caught my attention. The A740 comes packed with the latest technology you would expect for a high-performance AIO: a (optional) WQHD 2560X1440 display with a wide 178-degree viewing angle, NVIDIA GeForce graphics, JBL speakers and Dolby Home Theater, up to 1TB of hard drive storage, NFC, 802.11 AC Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI-in support, an optional TV tuner and comes with Windows 8.1. The A740’s stand and display back is cut from a single piece of aluminum looking real sleek and modern. And it can fold down 90-degrees flat. Lenovo C560:
The Lenovo C560 is a new 23-inch All-in-One perfect for the entire family available in white or jet black. It has a full HD 1920x1080 optional multitouch display and comes powered with up to a 4th generation Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce graphics. You get Dolby Advanced Audio for amazing sounding audio. And it also comes with up to 2TB of storage. If you want to use the C560 as a TV, it also has the option for a built-in TV tuner and also comes with HDMI out to connect to a bigger screen such as a TV. And no tools are required to update the memory or hard drive in the C560.
