LG to show off new Curved 4k

At CES 2014, LG will show off three new curved 4k ‘Ultra HD’ OLED TVs in 55″, 65″ and 77″ class sizes. The 4k ‘Ultra HD’ TVs feature a screen resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels (8.3 megapixels), as well as H.264 and HEVC H.265 decoding at 30 or 60 frames per second. A built-in decoder allows the display of 4k content from external devices connected via HDMI, USB or LAN ports. The LG sets also feature HDMI 2.0 capability. And, the curved OLEDs utilize LG’s proprietary WRGB OLED technology that incorporates red, green, blue and white (non filtered) subpixels.

The LG 77-inch (Model 77EC9800) has already received the CES 2014 “Best of Innovations” award. The TV incorporates LG’s Tru-ULTRA HD Engine Pro for upscaling SD, HD, and 1080p Full HD to 4k output. For smoother, more realistic motion, the 77EC9800 incorporates Motion Estimation Motion Compensation (MEMC). And, to control the color temperature of each pixels the 77-inch model uses the automatic LG Color Refiner.

LG will also be displaying their 55-inch class Gallery OLED TV (Model 55EA8800) that features a hidden 2.2 channel 100W  ”Canvas Speaker,” as well as the Curved OLED TV (Model 55EB9600) that utilizes more recycled parts and less parts overall with the environment in mind. // HD Report
